Company History

In 1993, Winguard Aluminum Manufacturing Ltd. of Toronto, one of Zimmcor Company of Montreal's major dealers, acquired the name of Zimmcor Company, along with inventory, machinery, a select number of people, and as well, 40 years of architectural glazing systems experience, and merged it with Winguard's operation under the old banner of Zimmcor.

With Winguard being previously involved in the Glass and Aluminum industry for over fifteen years, enhancing its reputation and gaining customer's confidence, along with its innovative design approach the new company was able to continue where Zimmcor of Montreal left off. Zimmcor's specialized services, practical experience, skill and strength, is reflected in it's principal field of activities, Curtain Walls, Skylights and Windows.

Zimmcor's staff is prepared to assist designers during pre-construction phases in trying to identify the most advantageous solutions or alternatives with respect to budget (cost), schedule and reliability.

Major construction requires a high degree of cooperation and interdependence among its business partners, the General Contractor/Project Manager, and all other contracting firms. Profitability is a function of product quality and schedule, and schedule has integrity only when business partners do. Today, Zimmcor is again offering its partners and customers the no-nonsense standards that made the firm a market leader in the design, manufacturing and installation of Curtain Walls, Skylights and Windows.

By increasing manufacturing facilities at its own shop, streamlining production, combined with innovative assembly and shipping procedures, by limiting the number of commitments, combined with improved quality control procedures, Zimmcor can continue to serve its clients and customers with its traditional superior performance.

Negotiated contracts, representing a large portion of Zimmcor's business, indicate the confidence in Zimmcor's ability to provide a quality product while strictly adhering to critical paths, meeting or beating deadlines at a reasonable cost.

Zimmcor owes much of its success to its ever-growing clientele, architects, corporations, developers and general contractors, who over the years have had confidence in not only Zimmcor's ability to produce and deliver, but moreover, in Zimmcor's creative approach to every project taken.
